Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 August 2026
The short version: your work is saved on your phone first, so the app works with no signal. It also backs up to your JobRhino account so a lost phone doesn’t cost you your business. That means we do hold a copy — this page says exactly what, why, and how to get rid of it.
Your account
To use JobRhino you create an account with an email address and a password. We store the email address, and a one-way cryptographic hash of the password — never the password itself. We cannot see it or recover it for you.
We use your email address to identify your account, to reply if you contact us, and to send you occasional messages about JobRhino. It is also where we send a six-digit code if you ask to reset your password. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Your business data
Everything you enter — customers and their contact details, your price list, estimates and invoices including signatures, your schedule, and your business details — is saved on your phone and copied to your JobRhino account so it survives a lost or replaced phone and appears on your other devices.
The information about your customers belongs to you, not to us. We hold it on your behalf, to give it back to you. We do not sell it, rent it, share it, use it to advertise to anyone, or use it to train anything. We do not contact your customers.
JobRhino is run by one person, the owner of the business, and he is the only human who can reach the database — only to keep the service working, to investigate a fault you have reported, or where the law requires it. Nobody browses it out of curiosity. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.
If you add your business logo, it is copied to your JobRhino account along with everything else, so your letterhead comes back when you set up a new phone. It is used only to put it on your own estimates and invoices.
Everything between your phone and our server travels over an encrypted connection. The database itself, and its backups, are encrypted at rest with AES-256 by our hosting provider. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and sign-in tokens are stored hashed, so even a copy of the database would not hand someone your password or your session.
When you are the one responsible
Under privacy law, you are the controller of your own customers’ information and we are a processor acting on your instructions. In plain terms: it is your relationship with your customers, and your responsibility to handle their details properly. Our job is to store what you put in, do nothing else with it, and delete it when you tell us to.
Sending an estimate or invoice
When you send one, the app generates a PDF on your phone and hands it to your device’s share sheet. Where it goes next — Messages, Mail, or anything else you pick — is your choice and is governed by that app’s privacy policy, not ours. The file itself does not pass through us.
Who else touches it
These are the only companies involved in running the app:
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Render | Hosts the JobRhino server, database and website, in the United States |
| Resend | Sends account emails — currently password reset codes — to the address you signed up with. It is not given your customers’ details. |
| Apple | Distributes the app and, in a future release, handles subscription billing |
We do not use advertising networks, analytics or crash reporting inside the app.
Deleting everything
Open the app, go to Settings › Delete account, and confirm. That permanently deletes your account and everything in it — customers, price list, estimates, invoices, schedule, business details, email address and password — from your phone and from our server. It happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no way for us to bring it back, including for you.
You do not need to email us or visit a website to do this, and we will not ask you why.
Our database is backed up so that a hardware failure does not take everyone’s work with it. A copy of deleted data can survive in a backup for up to seven days after you delete it, and is then gone. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups, for you or for anyone else.
You can also delete individual customers, estimates and prices at any time from inside the app, without deleting your account.
How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and business data | Until you delete your account |
| Sign-in sessions | 60 days, or until you sign out or delete your account |
| Password reset codes | 15 minutes, or until used — whichever comes first |
| Emails you send us | While JobRhino operates, or until you ask us to delete them |
| Database backups | Up to 7 days |
If something goes wrong
If your information is exposed in a way that puts you at risk, we will email you and tell you what happened, what was involved, and what we are doing about it — as required by California law and, where it applies, within 72 hours of becoming aware.
The website
Separately from the app, jobrhino.app collects two things, listed in full:
| What | Why | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| The email address you type into a signup or support form, plus anything you write in the message | To tell you when JobRhino launches, or to answer your question | Formspree |
| Anonymous page-view counts — page visited, referrer, rough country, browser and operating system | To see whether anyone is reading the site | GoatCounter |
Our analytics set no cookies, do not track you across other sites, and do not build a profile of you. The site itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
We use your email only to reply to you or to send you JobRhino updates. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. Reply to any email with “unsubscribe” and you are removed.
We keep signup and support emails for as long as JobRhino is operating, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
Payments
JobRhino does not process payments and never sees your card or bank details, or your customers’.
If you put a payment link on an invoice, that link belongs to your own Stripe account. Your customer pays you directly through Stripe under your agreement with them, not through us.
If you subscribe to JobRhino in a future release, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active; we do not receive your payment details.
Children
JobRhino is a tool for running a business and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Most of this you can do yourself, without asking us. Everything you have entered is visible and editable in the app, and Settings › Delete account removes all of it permanently.
Beyond that, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@jobrhino.app and we will answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we extend the same treatment to everyone regardless of where they live. We do not sell or share personal information — not yours and not your customers’ — so there is nothing to opt out of.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, for anything material, say so by email.
